Our container program is a joint venture between The Joy and Hope of Haiti, Gleaners Soup of Cambridge Ontario, and Food for the Poor Canada. Together, we are able to ship two containers a year to Cap Haitien thereby supplying 1,500,000 servings of dehydrated vegetable soup annually. One third is used in the Port au Prince area by Food for the Poor. The balance is used by us to feed over 7,500 people – mostly children – in schools, twice weekly. Our schools add fresh vegetables, moringa or rice to help complete this nutritious meal.
Martine needs your help! Tania, Martine and Noe – our Haiti Team – works extremely well together distributing food to those who so desperately need it. Martine, a lovely woman, is being taught English and basic computer skills. She is currently not employed; nor is she in school. She is asking for $500 to help pay tuition to Dr. Rodney’s nursing school. Her family will support the rest of her needs. Can you imagine her excitement if an angel investor helps her in this time of need?!
